Deanna Clopton – Woodland Room Lead Teacher

·         At MPPCCC:  since 2015

·         Has taught Preschool, Elementary and at the College Level

·         Degrees:  B.S. – Elementary and Early Childhood Special Education & M.A. – Curriculum Design with emphasis in early childhood science

·         The best part of her job:  Being creative, getting hugs and working with a friendly, dedicated group of ladies.  

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Being out in nature, working with animals, walking, reading and trying new recipes.

·         Favorite Color:  Blue

·         Favorite Food:  Anything sweet, be it peaches, pineapple, homemade cookies or chocolate.

·         My husband and I share our home with two boys, 3 dogs and a cat.  I have known since I was young that I wanted to live in MN someday.

Leighton Arnold – Woodland Room Aide

·         At MPPCCC:  since 2015

·         Worked at Toys R Us

·         The best part of her job:  watching the children learn and grow!

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Baking, taking pictures of my cat and taking him for walks.

·         Favorite Color:  pink, gold & white

·         Favorite Food:  cotton candy!

Lori Engstler - Meadow Room Lead Teacher

·         At MPPCCC:  since 2016

·         This is my first year here at MPPCCC.  My son attended Meadow Park for two years and I was on the Board for 1 year.  I have been teaching preschool in various capacities for over 20 years.  I am so excited to be here at Meadow Park Preschool!

·         Degrees:  B.A. - Elementary Education & M.A. in Special Education with an Early Childhood emphasis

·         The best part of her job:  I love reading books with the children.  I also love seeing them accomplish and discover something for the first time! 

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Spending time outdoors:  gardening, camping, biking, canoeing.  I also enjoy reading and doing various arts and crafts.

·         Favorite Color:  Blue like the sky and water

·         Favorite Food:  Triple Berry Pie, M and M’s, Korean food

·         I enjoy spending time outside with my family.  We like to camp, canoe, fish, hike and bike.  I like listening to them tell about their fish tales.

Ashlee Taylor – Meadow Room Aide

·         Has been a Nanny.

·         The best part of her job: She loves the children's different personalities. .

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Paddle boarding with her Pit-bull named Patchi.

·         I am an outdoor person who enjoys hiking, paddle boarding and camping. I love animals and i am also a fur mom to a bunny named Flopsy. 

Stacie MerkelMeadow Room Teacher/Kitchen Staff

·         Degrees: AA Education/Biblical Studies & Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Degree

·         The best part of her job:  playing with the children, especially during recess.

·         I love to be out in nature.   I have a Catahoula/pit-bull mix dog named Callie.






Dawn Mahan - Ocean Room Lead Teacher

·         At MPPCCC:  since 2003

·         Has taught in an Elementary School and at the College level.

·         Degrees: BA – Music,   BS – Biblical Studies and Theology, BS – Christian Education  MST – Elementary Education

·         The best part of her job:  teaching new themes, cuddling with children, and working with her co-workers

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Reading, composing, quilting, gardening, Facebook and teaching piano lessons

·         Favorite Food:  Anything Greek, Italian or Mexican

·         I pray with and for my class and their families every day.  I have 5 adopted grandchildren and love spending time with them.  I hope to do overseas mission work with children in a 3rd world country when I retire someday.















Kris Wittenberg - Aide/Kitchen Staff

·         Was a Family Child Care Provider for 29 years

·         The best part of her job:  experiencing the simple joys as the children grow and learn in a happy, loving environment.

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Reading, decorating and spending time with my grandchildren.

·         I have been a member of Church of the Savior since 1977.  I love our close-knit church family.  I love to share my walk with the Lord every day.

Jolene Greenwaldt – Kitchen Coordinator/ Aide

·         Has worked in the Foodservice Industry for many years.

·         The best part of her job:  Hugs from the children and hearing,  “Good Morning Mrs. Greenwaldt”!

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Gardening, camping, reading, boating and being known as the “Energizer Bunny”.

·         I took flying lessons, have been to 10 Caribbean Islands and I aspire to be an organic farmer in my dreams

Evalina Day – Chapel Teacher

·         The best part of her job:  Sharing my love for Jesus and planning nutritious snacks for the children.

Lavonne Sasse - Substitute Teacher

·         At MPPCCC:  since 1974

·         Has taught in an Elementary School and has spent almost all of her teaching career at MPPCCC.

·         Degrees: BS – Elementary Education &  Nursery School Education

·         The best part of her job:  the children and seeing the look on their faces when they accomplish a skill.

·         Hobbies and Interests:  Reading, quilting, and handbell choir

·         Favorite Color:  blue, red, purple

·         Favorite Food:  strawberries, salads and chocolate

·         I have a bell collection of 200 bells.  I also have a teapot collection and an angel collection.   










Lori Beckman – Head Teacher/Office Assistant

·         Has taught at MPPCCC her whole teaching career

·         The best part of her job:  I learn so much from the children each and every day.

Karin J. Swenson - Executive Director

·         At MPPCCC:  since 1993

·         Taught Preschool and has been an Executive Director

·         Degrees:  BS- Education with an emphasis in Elementary Education, Special Education and Theatre Arts &  MS – Counselor Education

·         The best part of her job:  is loving and supporting our school family.  Preschool is the BEST!

·         Hobbies and Interests:  jewelry-making and most arts and crafts, cooking, music and theatre

·         Favorite Color:  changes by the day J

·         Favorite Food:  Pizza

·         I like to teach the children Sign Language and Spanish.  I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling, because I am very interested in play therapy and filial therapy.  I have designed costumes in my past and have an interest in the technical side of theatre productions (lighting and scenic design).  I LOVE directing the children’s Christmas Program each year.



Please tell your friends, family and acquaintances we are accepting enrollment applications for SUMMER, FALL, and SPRING. We enroll on a first come first serve basis. If a classroom is full, you have the opportunity to put your child's name on a waiting list. Many parents will register their child 6-9 months in advance to ensure a spot for their child in our center.  Those interested in attending should call the center office at 289-6483 for information and to arrange for a tour. .
